First days at home

We arrived home on Wednesday afternoon. The NC Gribble's and Jammie's parents were here for our homecoming. It was a HOT, HOT July day. We were welcomed with ballons, streamers, flowers, food and most importantly lots of love! Big brother Sawyer has been so good with his little sister. On morning this week, he wanted to teach her all about tools! We are settling in and will be much more settled when our kitchen remolding is complete--oh I forgot to mention that we were in the process of having new countertops installed when Jammie went into labor. They are suppose to be complete today.......ah...what a life...LIFE IS GOOD!!!!

Caroline Alice Gribble

Caroline Alice Gribble was born this morning at 8:54. She was 8 lb 7 oz and 20.5 in. She is doing great. Jammie started having contractions at 6:00 AM. We got to the hospital about 8:00 and she was born less than an hour later. Jammie delivered naturally (she didn't have time to get an epidural even if she wanted too!). Jammie is still a little nauseous from some Nubane they gave her, but is doing well. Here's a couple of pictures. I'm sure there will be lots more. We'll be in the hospital until Wed, probably.

4th of July 2008

We headed out for the lake on Friday morning, the 4th. This was a short trip as we came back Saturday evening. We crammed a lot in. Playing on the beach with all of the cousins, including the youngest ones, Karson and Kyra.

Sawyer sat on the jet ski and pretended he was riding. He still won't take Uncle Jason up on the offer to go out for a little spin.

Friday night, we drove into the town of Coldwater to catch the fireworks. All of the cousins got to the little country store earlier that day and pick out some candy to eat that night. They were all very good and saved the candy. The fireworks got started late, so we didn't get home until almost midnight! That was the latest Sawyer has ever been up.

On Saturday, we had more time outside. Sawyer and I did a little bit of fishing off the end of the small dock. We caught one little fish (about 4 inches). It wasn't much, but Sawyer got a big kick out of it.

Later that morning we took a boat ride out to a sand bar on an adjacent lake. Sawyer actually got out of the boat and tooled around in the water. He practiced what he had learned at swimming lessons a few weeks back and jumped off the side of the boat several times.

That was probably our last trip anywhere for a while. Now we're settling in for the arrival of the baby.

First Ice Cream Truck

One evening last week just as we were finishing up dinner, we heard an ice cream truck coming down our street. We took Sawyer outside and let him flag down the truck. We all got some ice cream.

Sawyer chose a Spiderman popsicle. We sat on our back porch and all ate our ice cream. It was a really good evening.
