Christmas Tree

The Sunday after Thanksgiving presented a perfect fall afternoon. So, we ventured out to cut down our Christmas Tree from a farm in Michigan. This was the first year that Sawyer got to have the experience as last year for his first Christmas we got our tree from the parking lot of the local hardware store. This particular farm provide the whole experience of picking out your tree and cutting it down followed by a hay-ride back to your car with your tree in tow. Sawyer helped us pick out the tree of course. His first choice was just his size, but unfortunately, this tree was not old enough to serve as a Christmas tree this year.

Daddy convinced him that another tree that was bigger would be just as good and we set about cutting it down.

Sawyer did an excellent job of supervising Daddy during the cutting down process. Eventually, he felt he needed to lend a hand on the saw. I couldn't have done it without him.

After cutting our tree down, we all rode back on the tractor pulling the hay ride.

Back at the barn, there was free hot chocolate, a petting zoo, and a chance to see Santa! Sawyer liked the petting zoo a lot, especially the horse that tried to nibble him.

However, he wasn't all that thrilled to see Santa. I'm sure he'll gain an appreciation for Santa in the years to come.

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving in Rural Hall again this year. A good time was had by all. Plenty of good times and good food! Jammie, Aunt Bethany and G.G. helped Sawyer paint a Thanksgiving t-shirt using his hand print to make a turkey.

The end result was a cute t-shirt. However, Sawyer and Meme seemed a little baffled about the shirt.

Papa had a very busy Thanksgiving, as you can see by this picture of him taking the proveberial post-Thanksgiving meal nap. We are proud of him for not disturbing everybody with his snoring that usually accompanies his sleeping habits.
