4th of July 2008
We headed out for the lake on Friday morning, the 4th. This was a short trip as we came back Saturday evening. We crammed a lot in. Playing on the beach with all of the cousins, including the youngest ones, Karson and Kyra.
Sawyer sat on the jet ski and pretended he was riding. He still won't take Uncle Jason up on the offer to go out for a little spin.
Friday night, we drove into the town of Coldwater to catch the fireworks. All of the cousins got to the little country store earlier that day and pick out some candy to eat that night. They were all very good and saved the candy. The fireworks got started late, so we didn't get home until almost midnight! That was the latest Sawyer has ever been up.
On Saturday, we had more time outside. Sawyer and I did a little bit of fishing off the end of the small dock. We caught one little fish (about 4 inches). It wasn't much, but Sawyer got a big kick out of it.
Later that morning we took a boat ride out to a sand bar on an adjacent lake. Sawyer actually got out of the boat and tooled around in the water. He practiced what he had learned at swimming lessons a few weeks back and jumped off the side of the boat several times.
That was probably our last trip anywhere for a while. Now we're settling in for the arrival of the baby.
