Doctor Appt #2

We went to the doctor on Friday. Heard the heartbeat again! This time the doctor was able to find the heart beat within 2 -3 seconds. At our first visit, it took at least a minute.
I have started my 16th week. Here is a picture of me at 14 weeks.

Sawyer is still the little ham although he is displaying his independance. He loves his Wiggles guitar from Santa and loves to watch the Wiggles tape and play his guitar (which has Wiggles songs programmed in) along with "the guys".
He knows which video tape has the same songs as his guitar and has been asking to watch those so he can play along.

New Year Baby Gribble

We had the pleasure of sharing joyous and exciting news with both sides of our family over the holidays. SAWYER IS GOING TO BE A BIG BROTHER! WE ARE EXPECTING! We are due July 10th (if you take due dates seriously) which we believe are plus or minus a week so why get your hopes up. We are super excited. Saywer told everyone by wearing "I'm the Big Brother" sweatshirt that Jammie made him!

This is Jammie at 9 weeks.

Here we are telling Grandma Swain and baby Kyra!
Happy New Year to all. May God Bless you!

Merry Christmas from North and South

We spent the Friday before Christmas through the Thursday after Christmas in Rural Hall, NC. What a great time we had. We spent time in Chapel Hill and went to a Tarheel Men's basketball game, traveled to see Grandmother Gribble and Steve and Martha's clan, attended a Christmas lovefeast service at Phillip's Moravian church he grew up in(Sawyer loved it and he was such a well behaved boy throughout the service. He loved the Moravian bun and "coffee"), and last but not least we went to Kathyrn's for the "Petty exchange". We arrived in Ohio the Thursday after Christmas and stayed home until Saturday. We traveled up to MI and stayed until Monday night.

Let it SNOW!

Sawyer came down sick the second weekend in December, but was feeling better on a Monday. Phillip was able to stay home with him since the semester was done. We had a heavy snow fall that weekend, so Phillip and Sawyer bundled up and headed outside. Sawyer was very excited to get his "snow suit on like Dora and Boots!" He was very interested in touching the snow with his gloves and cleaning the snow off the swing set, as you can see in the video.

Visit with Santa and Christmas Tree

We took Sawyer to see Santa the day after Thanksgiving. We were in N.C. He was very excited. He told us all the toys he was going to tell Santa and he even took him M&M's. When we arrived where Santa was, it was a whole different story. He touched Santa pants and his bread, but did not want to sit on his lap. He gave him the M&M's too! In return Santa gave him his first candy cane.
After we returned from N.C. we got our tree and Sawyer was the "little general" and did a wonderful job at telling us where to place the ordiments.

Thanksgiving Monkies

Saywer and Aunt Bethany had a great time singing. Here is a short video of them:)

Thanksgiving 2007 (Part 3)

G.G, Aunt Bethany and Sawyer had a big time making Thanksgiving turkey cookies. Sawyer was a lot more interested in eating the candy corn and chocolate icing rather than finishing decorating the cookies. But they still turned out pretty good.

Thanksgiving 2007 (Part 2)

While we were in NC for Thanksgiving, we made a visit to see Meme at Salemtowne. Bethany was dressed for the occasion.

Sawyer was an especially big ham when we were saying our goodbyes to Meme.

Thanksgiving 2007 (Part 1)

As usual, we travelled to North Carolina for Thanksgiving this year. The Petty Thanksgiving was a much smaller gathering than in past years, but we still had a great visit. In addition to the traditional Thanksgiving meal, we did lots of other fun stuff. One afternoon we made a trip to the park with Aunt Bethany.

Grandma Gribble joined us for Thanksgiving day and she and Sawyer had a good time visiting.
